I don't tweet, but if I did, I might tweet the following things #veganproblems:
The salad I brought to work is too big to fit on one paper plate. #veganproblems
Out of lemons, also out of bottled lemon juice. How will I make hummus now? #veganproblems
Dammit, this shop's pizza crust is made with lard! #veganproblems
Chia or flax, chia or flax? #veganproblems
I got my parents to watch Forks Over Knives, but they're STILL eating meat! #veganproblems
If I take in this abandoned cat too, I'm officially going to be a crazy cat lady. #veganproblems
Brunch at a regular diner with old friends? Sure, oatmeal and black coffee is fine. #veganproblems
Hmmm, pretty sure paleolithic people hunted the meat they ate and didn't get a huge variety every day from factory farms. #veganproblems ***
This B12 vitamin is taking forever to dissolve! #veganproblems
Cookbooks. Cookbooks everywhere. #veganproblems
Is it possible to just coax fruit flies out of your apartment? #veganproblems
Post-Thanksgiving dinner at my parents' house, and I'm starving. #veganproblems
There just isn't enough room in my freezer to keep all these raw cashews now that I've filled it with beans and fruit. #veganproblems
Blogs. Can't read just one. #veganproblems
I think I'm totally getting carpel tunnel from peeling all these veggies. #veganproblems
Why doesn't Santa ever bring me a Vitamix? #veganproblems
What is the point of selling soy cheese at Trader Joe's if it has casein in it? #veganproblems
That last one is for my friend Kate P!

Got any to add? You get a bonus if you make me lol. And that bonus is laughter, which is a very healthy vegan ingredient to life. And just remember, we've got 99 problems, but high cholesterol ain't one.

I was smiling all through the list until I got to fruit flies, then I laughed. Damn little things. Here ya go — everything there is to know about getting rid of fruit flies. http://www.wikihow.com/Get-Rid-of-Fruit-Flies But I personally think they are invincible!
ReplyDeleteThat is by far the best how-to I've seen on this subject. Thanks very much for it!
DeleteI totally agree with that last one. Pointless!
ReplyDeleteCute!
ReplyDeleteOatmeal and Coffee!!
Add gluten free to all of that and you are just screwd!
I can't tell you how many times I've ranted about this one: "What is the point of selling soy cheese at Trader Joe's if it has casein in it? #veganproblems" Who is the market for that? If the buyer wants to eat casein, they'll get animal-based cheese, and if they don't want to eat casein then that ingredient has ruined it for them. I don't get it!
ReplyDeleteYour freezer looks a lot like mine! When I'm all out of Pyrex in the cupboard, that means my freezer is full of beans. When the cupboard is full of Pyrex, I must be out of beans! :)
Sorry about Santa and the Vitamix! Maybe this will be the year he listens. :)
Ahhh, that's not my freezer! I totally stole that picture from the internets.
DeleteMaybe it's for lactose-intolerant people? That's all I can figure.
DeleteSanta never brings me a Vitamix, either, despite years of pleading, whining and groveling. I'm beginning to think Santa's an a$$hole.
ReplyDeleteI looove this post! So witty and entertaining. Santa hasn't brought me a vitamix yet, either, which leads me to say:
ReplyDelete"Why do all vegan cookbook authors keep inundating us with smoothie recipes that only turn out right in a vitamix??? I blew out my Kitchen Aid blender by cramming it with too many frozen bananas and dates." #veganproblems
"Why do my extended relatives still ask me what I eat (and where I get my protein from) even though I've been vegetarian practically my whole life and vegan on and off for a decade?" #veganproblems
"Why does one of my doctors worry about my vegan diet instead of worrying about her own obesity?" #veganproblems
"Someone needs to educate the waitstaff about dietary restrictions. Vegan and gluten-free are NOT synonymous!". #veganproblems

P.S. RIP, Kitchen-Aid blender : (
P.P.S. I used to work at Trader Joe's. A lot on non-vegans with high cholesterol buy the casein soy cheese. However, people still complained about it all the time. Honestly, I tried their casein soy cheese and Daiya is way better. Working at Trader Joe's educated me about how cheese is made. Most cheese isn't even vegetarian, due to it containing nasty animal rennet. This fact led me to reembrace the vegan diet. So glad I did!
